Locations
- Von Dusk House: Fake name; actually Ossaryn House. An elegant aristocratic mansion inherited by one of the PCs. Beneath its foundations, an older estate hides the truth about Hal Ossaryn and his family.
- The Orchid Garden: An overgrown orchard and glasshouse behind Ossaryn House, filled with impossible white orchids and living silk. Home of the Orchid Weavers and the only place Hal genuinely fears.
- Ferelith Estate: Lady Ferelith’s imposing residence overlooking Old Ossaerium. Home to her vampire court and place of decadent dinners.
- The Old Quarter: The neighboring residential district where Ossaerium’s remaining undead continue strange imitations of ordinary city life.
- The Hidden Crypt: An ancient sealed chamber beneath Old Ossaerium containing Hal's phylactery.
Characters
- Hal Ossaryn – The original owner of Ossaryn House and a centuries-old lich. Hal manufactures false inheritances to lure new "relatives" into his home, harvest their souls, and sustain his phylactery.
- Lady Ferelith – High vampire. Elegant, ancient, and composed. She knows what Hal became and how to destroy him permanently.
- The Orchid Weavers – Two beautiful, unsettling “women” living among the orchids. Their affection hides a parasitic curse that makes victims die from flowers growing inside them.
- Sir Lucetto Von Dusk III – A previous victim of Hal's inheritance scam whose ghost remains trapped inside the house.
- The Undead Cat – a patchy, half-skeletal resident of Ossaryn House. Harmless, affectionate, and strangely comfortable around the Weavers.
- Dr. Calion – a courteous physician who doesn't appear particularly bothered by being dead.
- Josephine – a cheerful undead florist carrying a white orchid that never withers.
- Old Arn – an undead mason and gravedigger who helped renovate the original Ossaryn estate.
Factions
- The Ossaerium Memoir: A small circle of vampires and undead loyal to Lady Ferelith. They consider themselves the closest thing Old Ossaerium has to an aristocracy, ruling the remaining inhabitants of the abandoned district and lesser undead.
- Orchid Weavers Coven: Predatory “women” inhabiting the abandoned gardens and glasshouses of Old Ossaerium. They lure victims with beauty, healing, comfort, and affection before infecting them with parasitic orchids.
